HYACINTHE

HYACINTHE is a multi-sensory visual and audio experience which utilizes modified neurofeedback technology to allow viewers to impact a film in real time through alpha brainwave modulations in the prefrontal cortex. The experience invites viewers to become conscious co-creators through directly impacting and sculpting a film experience with their mind. No two experiences are the same.

The project results from a year of intensive research, filming, and program development and includes footage from five sacred locations. The island of Ikaria, Greece; Samothrace in the northern Aegean Sea; Sacred Valley, Peru; Ucayali River in the Amazonian rainforest of eastern Peru and The Atacama Desert, Chile. Each location is presented as a chapter within the project, corresponding to unique visual filters.

HYACINTHE premiered as a solo full-room installation at Stockholm’s SKF Konstnärshuset Gallery in January of 2023, with sold out pop-up presentations following at Neo-Metabolism in Amsterdam, Espace Nonono in Paris, and The Space in Charleston. A pop-up version of the experience will be presented at the Museum of Sensory & Movement Experiences in Santa Barbara in April 2024.
